Albums 2010 - Laurent

600 albums, des poussières et des numéros
S’amuser à classer (presque) tout ce qu’on a écouté en une année, qui plus est en enfermant chaque artiste dans un tiroir trop définitif, peut sembler un exercice vain et prétentieux. Je l’envisage pour ma part comme un pense-bête, un travail d’archivage qui alimentera mes souvenirs et me rappellera où en était l’évolution musicale en 2010.
Cette évolution, je la vois quant à moi comme une mutation qui, paradoxalement, brouille plus que jamais les frontières des genres. Comment ranger en effet un album comme l’ovni Gonjasufi dans la simple catégorie ‘garage’ ? Considérer Janelle Monáe ou Plan B comme de nouveaux talents soul alors qu’ils en réforment les codes ? Circonscrire les petites révolutions fomentées à leur échelle par These New Puritans ou Flying Lotus ?
Oui mais voilà : comment, autrement, crier la beauté contenue dans les disques de Boy & the Echo Choir, de Fursaxa, de Perfume Genius ? Comment, autrement, se souvenir de l’étape marquante qu’aura constituée 2010 dans le parcours de Sufjan Stevens et Kanye West, avant un futur incertain fait de consécration ou de déclin ?
En structurant mon univers émotionnel, j’ai voulu l’inscrire dans un espace-temps figé, peu soucieux des libertés artistiques certes, mais égoïstement centré sur ma propre perception ; ici et maintenant, histoire de savoir, peut-être, où j’en suis moi-même... À tous ceux qui m’ont lu, merci pour cette belle année et à bientôt, qui sait.

Bilan 2024
130 albums et 19 EP critiqués (l’intégralité est ici), voilà le bilan exhaustif de cette riche année. Mais comme à chaque fois, on profite de cette période pour faire un petit bilan, pour identifier des albums qui auront marqué. Il en manque sans doute, on ne se bornera pas à réécouter ceux-ci de toute façon. Mais entre pures découvertes, retours inattendus et confirmations, il y a forcément (…)
Albums 2023 - Mes préférés
Ce classement n’est pas à prendre littéralement, il aurait pu être très différent s’il avait été finalisé un autre jour. Mais la sélection globale resterait sans doute. Voici donc une poignée d’albums et EP tirés des 145 (record pour moi) critiqués cette année. Comme tous les ans, je suis curieux d’avoir vos suggestions. On se retrouve en 2024 !

C’était en octobre 2003. Ou en septembre, j’avoue que je ne sais plus trop. Fred et moi voulions faire un site, sans savoir avec qui l’alimenter. Fans de musique et de cinéma, on savait qu’on avait une énorme envie de partager, et de mettre en ligne nos avis. Mes Albums 2012
Le mieux de ce que j’ai préféré
Cette année encore, je ne vais pas faire semblant de ne pas aimer l’exercice des bilans. Tous les douze mois, on peut légitimement jeter un coup d’œil dans le rétroviseur et tenter de rassembler ses meilleurs (ou pas) souvenirs.
Alors, une bonne cuvée cette année 2012 ? Assurément, oui, même si j’avoue qu’à de rares exceptions près, c’est-à-dire les années (…)
